How to use Variant Option Language Localisation in AutoFeed

AutoFeed gives you the opportunity to still create a compliant feed even though you might have used a localised language version on your product description pages (PDP)

What is a variant?

Below you can see the standard Shopify Variants; Size, Color, Material, and Style. You will find this on your PDP, just below the images.

If you use the standard. pre-selected text, these will show on your PDP in that spelling, so Color spelt using US English.

It shows like this for your customers

How variants show on the product page in Shopify

If you are not a USA store then this isn’t a great experience

You will have probably already localised these to your own language.

This means it’s impossible to find the variant to add to the feed unless we know what you have called it. We need to know what to put in the ‘color’ field for Google.

If in French you PDP will probably look something like this

Here size is ‘taille’ and color is ‘couleur’

To make sure we can find these variants and assign them correctly we need tou to tell us in the app what spelling you used..

The AutoFeed Variant Localisation Section

If you scroll down the feed creation page in the app you will see a section named ‘Variant option language localisation’, see below

Variant option localisation in AutoFeed for Shopify

For each variant you have the option to input your localised spelling.

This then allows us to find it for the feed.

Click save and generate your feed and you are set to go.
